Barbara Bono
Associate Professor Emerita, English and Global Gender and Sexuality Studies
Barbara Bono is Associate Professor Emerita of English and Global Gender and Sexuality Studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She is a specialist in the literature of Shakespeare and his contemporaries; the author of Literary Transvaluation: From Vergilian Epic to Shakespearean Tragicomedy and numerous articles on literature and the sex-gender system; and has received several major teaching awards during her career. In retirement she continues her social justice interests with several Buffalo not-for-profits and is a Board member at Peace of the City.

We are also looking for folx to share their creative, scholarly, and/or collaborative projects to follow on our first year of terrific talks. Please reach out to Douglas Basford (dbasford@buffalo.edu), Jeehyun Lim (jeehyunl@buffalo.edu), or Nicole Lowman (nllowman@buffalo.edu) for more information and to participate.
Who: Scholar-activists, particularly those whose identities are underrepresented in academic spaces.
What: About 30 minutes on a works-in-progress related to social justice, including ideas about how the work contributes to practice or praxis.
Where: Zoom, until it’s safe to meet in person
When: Fall 2021 or Spring 2022

Why: To start to understand how we can “use” our work to alter power structures and the harm they cause.
