Faculty External Grant Writing Workshop
September 8, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Each September, in anticipation of fall grant application deadlines, the Humanities Institute hosts a Faculty External Grant Writing Workshop. The workshop focuses on best practices and common pitfalls in the grant application process. All UB arts and humanities faculty are invited to attend, from new arrivals to seasoned applicants. The workshop will include discussion of draft grant applications that will be pre-circulated for peer critique within small groups. In past years the workshop has been highly successful, and several participants were subsequently awarded major fellowships.
This year’s Workshop will take place at the end of the second week of classes, on Friday, September 8th, 1 pm to 3:30 pm, in 532 Park Hall (History). Cris Miller, Professor of English, and Chitra Rajan, Associate Vice President for Research Advancement, will share their expertise and experience in garnering grants and evaluating those of others. Lunch will be provided with small group, peer-review, working sessions following.
