Please join the University at Buffalo’s Department of Media Study to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a FREE SCREENING of short experimental films made by legendary artists who taught at UB in the 1970s. A featured event in this year’s Buffalo Int’l Film Festival, this screening will be the inaugural installment of DMS@50+ – a year-long series of events celebrating Media Study’s 50ish Anniversary.

Taking place at the North Park Theatre, this program features canonical work by faculty from the ‘Buffalo Heads’ era (1973-1990) – Steina Vasulka + Woody Vasulka, Tony Conrad, Gerald O’Grady, Peter Weibel, James Blue, Paul Sharits + Hollis Frampton! Following the screening, there will be cupcakes and a discussion about additional planning for DMS@50+ and ways to get involved.
