Please join us for Justin Read’s triumphant return to the Modernist Research Workshop, for a work-in-progress session on a chapter titled “The Face of the Moon, or How I Learned to Love the Machine in Buenos Aires.” We will be meeting on Thursday 15 November, from 3:30–5:00, in Clemens 904, to discuss this new work, which Justin himself describes as partly about sound (“in its middle section”) within a larger investigation of “the interweaving mechanical invention, subjective identity, and capi​talist political-economic order in the early 1900s.”
