Diamant is the author of Revolutionizing the Family: Politics, Love, and Divorce in Urban and Rural China, 1949-1968 (2000) and Embattled Glory: Veterans, Military Families and the Politics of Patriotism in China, 1949-2007 (2009), as well as co-editor of Engaging the Law in China: State, Society and Possibilities for Justice (2005). Before joining the Dickinson faculty in 2002, he taught at Tel Aviv University in Israel and the University of Pittsburgh. He has also been an instructor and Fellow at the Strategic Studies Institute of the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA. His research has been supported by numerous organizations, including Fulbright, the Committee for Scholarly Communication with China, the Yigal Alon Memorial Fund, the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation, and the Howard Foundation.
