A presentation by Brian Milbrand and Grace Andriette who will be discussing the role of documentary film as a bridge between academic urban studies and a local urban community. Milbrand is currently a fellow at UB’s Civic Engagement and Public Policy Research Initiative. He is a video documentarian and technical director at Buffalo State. Milbrand directed the documentary, “This Doesn’t Happen Here,” about segregated housing in Buffalo. Andriette is a staff attorney for Buffalo Neighborhood Legal Services specializing in housing discrimination. She has worked to education the community on issues of fair housing and housing discrimination and worked with Milbrand on the film.
